I hope your holiday season has been magical and full of joy, however you celebrate it.
This year, mine has been incredibly creative—probably the most creative I’ve had in a long time. Getting on the right mental health medication and giving myself time (about a year!) to find the right balance… I can’t even describe how life-changing it’s been. But instead of oversharing (🫣), let me tell you about my Little Cozy Yule Grimoire!
As you (may or may not?) know, I work in publishing with some of the most incredible imprints and authors. I help them write, edit, market, and promote their work. I already had a deep respect for the sheer amount of effort it takes to bring a book from manuscript to release day and beyond. But let me tell you, I truly didn’t grasp the full scope until I decided to publish a book myself.
But here’s the crazy part: my book isn’t even a novel, and I am dead tired! 💀💤 It’s “just” a small collection of folklore, witchy musings, recipes, and one short story—about 70-90 pages, depending on the eReader. Even so, the process was a lot. Let’s just say I spent all of December 26th melted into the sofa. Authors, I have always respected you, but now I’m in awe of you.
So, what’s this book all about?
I created this little grimoire to make your winter warmer, more magical, and introspective—a witchy hygge season book if you will. It’s also the first release in my new Sparkling Sabbat series! The series will include an eBook for every sabbat in the Wheel of the Year. I plan to release all eight books in 2024 and then compile them into a physical book around this time next year. That’s a big undertaking, but I’m determined! (And if I can’t manage all eight, I’ll focus on the four major sabbats).
Although it’s also possible I’ll wind up releasing these smaller books as trade paperbacks or in hardcover format because my mom wants a physical copy, and what mom wants, mom gets! 😜
